DISTURBED by the level of exploitation that students of Kogi State University have been enduring as a result of the recent fuel scarcity and subsequent hike in pump price's the leadership of the interim Student Union Government (SUG) has prevailed on traders on the campus to reduce the cost of goods and services.
The students' body said that though they are in business to make profit, it was not an excuse to continually exploit students.

The interim President of the union, Comrade Idogbe Enema Evaristus, who led other members of his team on the sensitization, appealed to them to be sensitive to the plights of the students.
He said even though they are trying to make profit, they should desist from making life unbearable for the students by unnecessarily inflating prices of goods and services.
Evaristus, who is worried by the recent hike in the prices of recharge cards, and other items wondered why some of the traders could be so insensitive to the condition of students.
He said the SUG was not unaware of their predicament as business people, but called on them to purchase their wholesale cards from dealers who sell at reasonable prices.
He says: "In as much as they want to make profit, our investigation has shown that there are dealers who sell the recharge cards at more considerable prices, they should patronize such dealers, rather than buying from those that sell for them at a high price which compel them to sell at a higher price to students.
