Complete Version : This is the first and second edition of questions and answers with Hon Benjamin Ikani Okolo Representing Dekina /Bassa Federal constituency in the national assembly with Dekina Progressives Network .

Ak Emje: Hon. Sir.  Can we use this opportunity with hashtag #AskHonBen and ask some questions since is weekend?

Hon Ben: Ak u r welcome.

Ak Emeje: Thanks my Hon. Sir as a statesman in Kogi Apc, Do u think it's lawful to swear in Mr Bello without Deputy and if that's not possible can Bello pick som1 b4 the swearing in date sir? #AskHonBen.

Hon Ben: ‎My I have seldom comments on this issue because of the way people are reacting. There is need to look at law and divorces it from sentiments. As it stand now, inec still sees Faleke as the deputy governor until he refuses to appear on the day of swearing in. The issue must first start from the party. The party has to communicate inec on its decision to change the deputy governorship candidate of their party and until that is done by the party inec has no right to declare the position vacant. So Bello will certainly be sworn in on 27th and if there won't be deputy its that day thAt it with 've known by the people of kogi. ‎I am aware that Faleke has communicated both inec and the party on his decision not to accept to run as deputy to Bello but I know that the party has not treated it with the seriousness it deserves for reason I can not fathom.

Lawal Big Money: Sir, with all due sense of humility to you as a politician not just a politician but a political scientists and it does not end there,  a political analyst per say. Sir, will it be good for Kogi to suffer for another four years with the same train that brought Wada to us as governor.... that in the case of Yahaya Bello who did not labour for the governorship position: and if did at primary, what was his manifestos to the people at General rally in the 21local govt Council. #AskHonBen

Hon Ben: Big money, what brought Bello was necessity. All of us worked to ensure that Audu succeeded and God helping us, it happened and the same God took him away. Now, the party looked at the law and decided that the first runner up from the result of the primary election is the rightful person to Come in as a replacement which inec requested from the party. Talking about his plans for the state. I can't speak for him but I know that it's not possible for anyone to gun for the position of governor and not have a working plan. This should be left to chance as he takes over power.

Democrats Absallam: Hon. Ben...as you may have known, one of our major issues as a constituency is that collectively, we face the problem of illiteracy which has done more harm to our society  than education... What are your plans for improving primary education especially? #AskHonBen.

Hon Ben: Talking about my plans for primary Education in my constituency May be slightly out of place as I am not in the position to affect them directly in terms of what is needed for proper positioning of our primary Education system. What I can do is to Come in by way of interventions in area of needs that I can identify and assist as my constituency assistance project.

Ak Emeje: Thanks sir Hon. My last question pls, Sir there are Rumours all round that u hv interest in the deputy governor position, pls sir Hw true is this? We are ur brothers if we know ur plan we defend u anywhere sir. #AskHonBen

Hon Ben: The issue of deputy governorship is not opened yet as much as I know until 27th. You have said it today like anyone else who has been talking about it. I am in the house of representatives by the grace of God and I am grateful. However, if by tomorrow the position is vacant and I look at the chances and opportunities in it for my people and I can convince myself about it then I can make advanced but for now, not me. ‎On.my personal account as Benjamin, I abhor thuggery and that conviction and belief underscores my crusade against thuggery, permutations and begging. I do much of empowerment and I won't stop.

Democrats Absallam: ‎2. Look around Dekina/Bassa constituency... Most of the roads are unmotorable at any speed, public institutions like schools and hospitals are decrepit, appalling and they are hallmarks of a systemic ruination. How do you intend to be part of a turn around for this constituency in collaboration with the in-coming  administration? #AskHonBen.

Hon Ben: Democrats, talking about the state of our public institutions. I share the same conviction as yours but you must first appreciate the fact that it's not within capacity as a legislator but where I see opportunities I can lobby for improvement. I have already raise the issue of neglect of Anyigba through Dekina through Gboloko and Shintaku on the national issue for consideration for inclusion into 2016 budget and I hope I will find favour in the sight of the people who are in appropriation for assistance.

Sen Nuhu: My Distinguished Honourable sir, like you. The number one problem of your constituency to my best knowledge is. Unemployment and underemployment. Sir, what are your plans to help us to gain employment sir? #AskHonBen. Ak Emeje: ask Similar questions. ‎

Hon Ben: ‎The questions of Nuhu and Kareem are the same. I am aware of the magnitude of  unemployment in the land. The challenge is with us and it's so frustrating when people who are graduates don't have business ideas because there's a little we can do in terms of employment. Whatever we can achieve  will still be infinitesimal compared to the challenge of unemployment. I will design  an empowerment program where graduates will be given money to start businesses of their own. ‎

RealOne Emeje : Good evening Hon Ben, what is your plan for opening offices in major Cities under your constituency, so that market women, elderly can have direct access to you. #AskHonBen.

Hon Ben: We already have offices in Oguma and Anyigba which shall be commissioned by February this year.

RealOne Emeje : Hon sir. I want personally request your effort to help the youths in skill acquisition centre, so that youth's can develop new skills especially in the area of ICT, modern farming, paint production, fish farming etc. It should be inform of an academy within your constituency sir.

Hon Ben: Skill acquisition on ICT is what I have concluded plans to start in partnership with Ajb computers from February since I can not build a center of my own now. And it's intended thAt a set of desktop will be given to each participant at the end of the program.

Chenemi : Anyigba who has become the Mecca of Igala kingdom has become the home of kidnapping and robbery recently. #AskHonBen.

Hon Ben: Kidnapping is purely a security situation. Everyone is prone to this attack. We are in prayers constantly for God's protection.

Egu Ejah: My Hon sir. It seems technology inconjuction with agriculture can do us a lot of good in Dekina/Bassa federal constituency........ How can you assist ur people achieve this? #AskHonBen

Hon Ben: I truly don't have any idea in the area of Agriculture yet because I am going to touch on areas that we can use to withdraw our youth from the streets into a meaningful program that will benefit them.

Yusuf Ahmed : The great pple of Dekina Bassa federal constituency felt they've never been represented well as they feel their slots for major employment opportunities are been sold, in this regards what measures have you put in place to restore the hope and trust of the pple should you come across any of such opportunities while in office?  #askhonben

Hon Ben: The question about the constituency having slots for employment is not true.  What obtains is that you shine your eyes and where ever you see opportunities you grab and give to your constituents.

Adaji : It is prominent among our leaders in kogi state not fulfilling their campaign promises, what are the hopes or assurance of the electorate that they didn't lost it again this time. Also, what do you have in stock in other to encourage sporting activities in Anyigba vis a via D/B in general. Also inform of appeal that Anyigba lack a suitable pitch or game zone for games activities. What can you do to turn the popular SP into a special sporting environment with good landscaping football, handball, volley et al picht. #askhonBen#

Hon Ben: Adaji, I have answered questions on sports earlier. I will certainly organize competition across the federal constituency and ensure that scouts from Nigeria leagues are here to pick anyone who impresses them for trial. Prince Adamu : ‎How can you facilitate to help in deployment of some policemen to those affected wards in order to reduce the insecurity menace?‎ I am sure the affected wards will ever remain grateful to your gesture if you do that for them. #AskHonBen#

Hon Ben: Issues of police posts or station is better channeled through the local government.

‎ Engr Aminu Dogaa: Just suggestion sir. My distinguish Honourarable, thank u 4 giving us audience despite ur tight schedule. I commend u 4 the plane u have on our youth. I want to sugest about the center 4 the skill ackuisition to b shifted to the hall built by former Honourable Omebije, Near community town hall in Iyale Road since the aim of building the hall is 4 the same purpose to save cost so that we can have a permanent n continouse programmee sir. #askHonBen#

Hon Ben: I have never thought of using the hall before for political consideration and secondary for some financial constraints. However, I have made up my mind for the program of February to commence in partnership with ajb. Yusuf Ahmed : Hon. Should in case you see such opportunities and happens to grab them, how do you intend to distribute them? As most of the masses you represent might happens not to be that close to you and yet counts on you. #askhonben

Hon Ben: I will surely not have any dilemma in offering my slots to my constituents. Adaji Muh'd: We don't have any suitable field for sport in Anyigba which is the heartland of the constituency but like it is employed in many community we have visited, the do have a township stadium where they converge to show unity. I think it will add to your credit if SP can be turn to a mini stadium under your leadership # askhonben# ‎

Egu Eja: Educational sector in Kogi State needs total reform. ...... In what way can you bring the attention of the Government to our constituency on this direction? #AskHonBen ‎

Hon Ben: Educational institutions or sector in kogi is an exclusive responsibility of the state government. The best people to answer this question are your state assembly member. To add a quick one, you as an individual can sponsor a private member bill to address the areas of concerns to you. ‎ Hon Ben: The seventh Assembly had dealt with the issue and from the report I saw, our leaders have compromised but we do hope an opportunity can come up for the issue to be discussed once more. Adaji, my salaries for four years can not build a stadium. This question or appeal should be directed to the appropriate quarters. ‎

Adaji Muh'd: I was charting with some person from Adiyele and they told me how you promised to salvage them by introducing a secondary school to their community as the community has the voting power of over thousands registered voters. They had live over hundred years without a single function secondary schools, and they accepted you, voted for you because of the promise made for them. What are their hopes or expectations on you to deliver your promise in no time sir. #askhonben# ‎

Hon Ben: On the issue of school fees. It's not within my jurisdiction. Take that to the table of your stAte assembly members. Adiyele community and Ogbobutu don't have schools. I promised to build a block of class room for the to stArt as junior secondary school. It's very important for me not because of their votes but because of the pains the young boys and girls go through by trekking close to 20kilometers to Ajiolo before they can access secondary education.‎
